SCT
DB100 - Gravity Dosing Unit
with Reservoir
This robust gravity operated dosing unit incorporates
its own reservoir and uses a unique dual system of
mechanical (magnetic) solenoid valves and floats to
automatically control the dissolution, mixing and
system dosing of our solid chemical products.
This compact, wall mounted dosing unit can be conveniently
located at the point of use and requires no electrical
supply.
How it works
Once installed the dosing unit is initially filled
with the desired volume of chemical in the reservoir.
This is done by allowing make-up water to spray up
into the inverted bottle of solid chemical leading
to dissolution of the chemical product and filling
of the reservoir.

As dissolved product
is fed (via gravity) into the system the reservoir
level falls. The integral primary float also
falls and activates the primary solenoid valve
allowing more water to spray up into the inverted
bottle of chemical. The reservoir will continue
to refill with chemical solution until the primary
float reaches its shut-off point and closes
the solenoid. This fill >> empty >>
refill cycle will continue automatically,
based on system demand.
This dosing unit also incorporates a unique
spill containment safety feature, a dual valve
overflow system. In the unlikely event that
the primary solenoid valve were to remain in
the “open” position or if a leak
were to occur, a secondary float would activate
to close the overflow solenoid valve. |
SCT DB50 - Gravity
Dosing Unit for Small, Open Systems
This compact gravity operated dosing unit is designed
for use on small, open systems and offers a convenient
way to safely and consistently mix and feed our solid
chemical products. This unit can be used for batch
mixing or dosing mixed chemical products to open cooling
towers or boiler systems.
| Automated
control
The innovative design of this unit includes
a simple solenoid valve and integral timer device
which eliminates the need for additional chemical
metering pumps. The solenoid valve is operated
by the timing device which can be pre-set to
control the dissolving water flow and allow
chemical dosage into open, non-pressurised or
“to atmosphere” applications.

units fitted to cooling tower

This gravity dosing unit is simple to operate and
activates via an electrical signal, either directly
or from the integral timer device. This opens the
solenoid valve to allow make-up water to spray up
into the inverted bottle of solid chemical which results
in product dissolution.
Installation requirements
The dosing unit is easy to install and should be
wall mounted and connected to a suitable water line
and electric supply; and a timer fitted where required.
Direct input
Feed water from the water line sprays into the bottle
of solid chemical product resulting in product dissolution.
Dissolved chemical product then feeds (via gravity)
into the system, unless it is controlled by the solenoid
valve.
