Scale & Corrosion Inhibitor - White Rust Passivation

Product Name:

SCT6017
Application: Cooling Water Treatment
Brief Description: Scale & Corrosion Inhibitor - White Rust Passivation
Format: Baton (0.36kg) - Solid
Description

SCT6017 is a solid cooling water treatment product developed to protect galvanised cooling towers from white rust conditions. SCT6017 is suitable for use in both new installations and systems that must be routinely passivated. It uses the very latest anti-scaling and corrosion inhibition technologies. Its corrosion inhibitors combine with conventional chemistry to provide system protection via passivation.

SCT6017 comprises a small (0.36kg) solid chemical baton wrapped in a water soluble bag. It is designed to treat open cooling tower water systems during system start-up, and helps to achieve a suitable inhibitor concentration during this stage.

SCT6017 is also a good “catch up” solution for cooling systems that have lost water or where the inhibitor feed has been absent for some time. It is also good for use in small cooling systems where metering of the inhibitor into the system is not practical.

SCT6017 contains ortho phosphate, polymer dispersant and triazole.

Product Application / Feedrate

At a dosage rate of 250 ppm the parameters identified in the table below should be met during the passivation period. Operators should also refer to the tower manufacturers guidelines for additional detail.

Each baton of SCT6017 yields 250 ppm of product when added to 1.89m3 of system volume/water.

Testing & Control

Ortho phosphate test kits suitable for monitoring and controlling the use of SCT6017 are available from SCT.

Feeding *

When dosed into a cooling system, operators should attempt to find a high flow area in the sump of the cooling tower or inside an accessible make-up tank. Please note that product dissolution rates will vary depending upon water composition, temperature and flow rate.

Packaging, Storage and Handling

SCT6017 is packaged in cases containing 30 x 0.36kg water-soluble bags, each bag being enclosed in a sealed cardboard tube.

Each case weighs 10.9kg.

For all safety data refer to the latest SCT MSDS.

Store this product in cool, dry area. Correctly stored product will remain effective for between 24 to 36 months.
