| Description |
SCT6010 is a highly effective open cooling water
treatment product developed for “corrosive”
conditions. It uses the very latest anti-scaling,
anti-fouling and corrosion inhibition technologies.
SCT6010 inhibits the corrosion of ferrous metals
using both cathodic and anodic protection; it also
incorporates copper corrosion inhibitors.
SCT6010 comprises a small solid chemical baton
(0.36kg) wrapped in a water soluble bag. It is designed
to treat open cooling tower water systems during
system start-up, and helps to achieve a suitable
inhibitor concentration during this stage.
SCT6010 is also a good “catch up” solution
for cooling systems that have lost water or where
the inhibitor feed has been absent for some time.
It is also good for use in small cooling systems
where metering of the inhibitor into the system
is not practical.
SCT6010 contains PBTC phosphonate, HEDP phosphonate,
Versaflex-one, Ter-polymer, HPA, POCA and triazole.
Product Application / Feedrate
The initial recommended application rate for SCT6010
is 50 ppm. The application rates provided below
are based on the corrosive indices of particular
waters, however in practice, rates should be set
to suit individual water conditions.

* Each baton of SCT6010 yields 25 ppm of product
when added to 15.2m3 of system volume/water.
Testing & Control
Molybdate (as Mo) test kits suitable for monitoring
and controlling the use of SCT6010 are available
from SCT. SCT test kits for organo-phosphonate can
also be used.
Feeding
When dosed into a cooling system, operators should
attempt to find a high flow area in the sump of
the cooling tower or inside an accessible make-up
tank. Please note that product dissolution rates
will vary depending upon water composition, temperature
and flow rate.
Packaging, Storage and Handling
SCT6010 is packaged in cases containing 30 x 0.36kg
water soluble bags, each bag being enclosed in a
sealed cardboard tube.
Each case weighs 10.9kg.

Store this product in cool, dry area. Correctly
stored product will remain effective for between
24 to 36 months.
