| Description |
SCT6049 is a solid boiler water oxygen scavenger
and neutralizing amine product.
SCT6049 is based on diethylhydroxylamine (DEHA)
and is designed to remove dissolved oxygen from
boiler systems, whilst providing excellent metal
passivation. As a volatile organic, DEHA will also
help to protect steam distribution systems from
oxygen corrosion. In the presence of heat, a portion
of SCT6049 breaks down to form neutralizing amines
which help elevate the pH of the condensate system
helping to protect it from carbonic acid attack.
This process may reduce or even eliminate the need
for additional neutralizing amine. DEHA does not
add dissolved solids to the system.
SCT6049 is available in fully recyclable plastic
bottles each containing 5.5kg of concentrated solid
chemical.
Product Application / Feedrate
SCT4049 is generally applied at 3 ppm of product
per ppm of oxygen, although the feedrate is dependent
upon the amount of feedwater, oxygen and alkalinity.

Feeding
Feed SCT6049 using an SCT DB100 board system.
Packaging, Storage and Handling
SCT6049 is packaged in cases containing 4 x 5.5kg
bottles.
Each case weighs 21.8kg.
