Non-Oxidising Biocide with DBNPA - US EPA Registered

Product Name:

SCT6019
Application: Biocide for Cooling Water Treatment
Brief Description: EPA Registered Non-Oxidising Biocide with DBNPA
Format: Bottle (2.3kg) - Solid
Description

SCT6019 is a US EPA registered solid non-oxidising biocide developed for cooling water treatment applications. SCT6019 is highly effective against a wide spectrum of common waterborne organisms, acting to control microbiological fouling and inhibiting further growth.

SCT6019 is available in fully recyclable plastic bottles each containing 2.3kg of concentrated solid chemical.

SCT6019 contains 2, 2-Dibromo-3-NitriloPropionamide (DBNPA) 98%.

Product Degradation & Stability

SCT6019 quickly degrades at increased pH and temperature levels to leave carbon dioxide, ammonia and bromide ions. It is considered ideal for systems operating under strict environmental and discharge regulatory requirements.

Unlike most cooling water biocides SCT6019 continues to perform well even at higher pH levels. It is engineered to deliver fast and effective microbial control well before any significant product degradation occurs. SCT6019 is ideal where both fast antimicrobial activity and rapid degradation of the microbiocide is required. This combination improves control whilst minimising environmental impact.

Dosage Rate

For industrial re-circulating cooling water systems dosage rates for SCT6019 will be dependent on the conditions of the system prior to treatment. Systems that are heavily contaminated should be cleaned prior to product use.

Apply SCT6019 to the cleaned system or when growth is first identified in accordance with the following:

Initial Dosage

Dose 1kg of SCT6019 per 792m3 of water in the system. This dosage regime may be as a continuous treatment applied once, twice or three times weekly, or as required to control the growth of slime forming organisms.

Subsequent Dose:

When microbial activity is identified, add 1 kg of SCT6019 per 792m3 of bleed water as a continuous treatment daily, or every 3 days; or as required to maintain control.

Testing & Control

DBNPA test kits suitable for monitoring and controlling the use of SCT6019 are available from SCT.

Feeding

Feed SCT6019 using an SCT DB100 board system.

Packaging, Storage and Handling

SCT6019 is packaged in cases containing 4 x 2.3kg bottles.

Each case weighs 9.1kg.

For all safety data refer to the latest SCT MSDS.

Store this product in cool, dry area. Correctly stored product will remain effective for between 24 to 36 months.
